ProjectAdulting Privacy Policy

Effective September 6, 2026. ProjectAdulting (also called Brain Dump: ProjectAdulting) is operated by Decent4 LLC, Columbia, Illinois. This policy covers the app and its backend services.

Information we collect and why

AI sharing: what, who, and purpose

AI is optional. Before sharing personal content with AI, the app asks for your permission in a separate disclosure. Microphone permission and ad-tracking permission do not authorize AI sharing.

OpenAI processes AI text and voice requests. Vercel processes the requests through our backend and Vercel AI Gateway. Text features send your submitted messages and brain dumps, recent conversation history, relevant tasks and notes, saved AI memory, and profile or learning context such as your name, preferences, goals and progress. Any personal information you type into that content is included. This produces coaching replies, plans, task assistance and personalized lessons. After a conversation, an AI request may combine its transcript with existing AI memory to update that memory.

Voice transcription has a separate permission choice. It sends the recording you make, including your voice and what you say, through Vercel AI Gateway to OpenAI's Whisper service. The resulting text returns to the input box for review. Sending that text to the AI coach requires AI text-sharing permission. We do not send your account password or payment credentials as AI prompt context.

We use these providers as processors to deliver the requested features. We require third-party processors to protect personal information to the same or an equivalent standard as this policy, including confidentiality, security, limited purposes and applicable deletion obligations, through their service and data-processing terms. See OpenAI's Data Processing Addendum and Vercel's Data Processing Addendum. Provider retention, security and legal obligations are governed by those terms. We do not promise that submitted information is instantly deleted by every provider.

Other service providers

Vercel hosts our API and Neon stores app data. Apple and RevenueCat process subscription and entitlement operations. PostHog provides consented product analytics and masked onboarding recordings; Expo Observe provides consented performance monitoring. Sentry provides sanitized crash diagnostics. AppsFlyer receives approved advertising events only after Apple grants App Tracking Transparency permission; RevenueCat supplies authoritative subscription revenue. Provider and advertising partner dashboards require separate configuration. LogRocket and Vexo collection is removed from the new tracking implementation. Resend supports account emails.

Optional analytics starts off and can be changed in Account Settings. Advertising permission is independent and can be changed in iOS Settings. Android advertising collection is disabled. Declining either choice does not limit app access. Changes stop future collection from this installation; requests already sent cannot be recalled.

Your choices and retention

Account deletion removes first-party account events and pending analytics deliveries. It also queues asynchronous deletion of associated events and recordings in the configured PostHog project. Provider erasure is not instantaneous, and historical anonymous data and records held independently by other providers are not covered by this automated process. Contact support for other deletion requests.

Choose “Not now” on an AI disclosure to prevent that transfer. You can keep using manual tasks, notes and saved lessons. In Profile → AI & Voice Privacy, turn either permission off to stop future requests from this device. Signing out resets AI sharing permission. Consent is requested again if the disclosed recipients or purposes change. Withdrawal cannot recall a request already sent.

You can view, edit or clear saved AI memory in Profile → Memory. Manage microphone, photos and tracking permissions in device settings. Manage subscriptions in your Apple account settings. Account data is kept while needed to provide your account and features, or to satisfy security, payment, backup and legal obligations. Device data remains until deleted through the app or by removing the app; provider backups and legally required records may persist for their applicable retention periods.

Delete your account and related app records in Profile → Account Settings. Contact us if you cannot access your account, want a copy of your information, or have questions about deletion or your privacy rights. Account deletion does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription.

Security, transfers and contact

We use encrypted network connections, access controls and restricted service credentials. Service providers may process data in the United States and other countries under their data-protection terms. No system can guarantee absolute security. Avoid including information you do not want processed in an AI request.

We will update this policy when data practices change and request new AI permission when the disclosure changes. For privacy questions or rights requests, contact info@decent4.com, Decent4 LLC, Columbia, Illinois, +1 (618) 360-7727.
